NOTICE ON THE PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA IN THE BEHAVE PROJECT

The Municipality of Novo mesto, Seidlova cesta 1, 8000 Novo mesto (hereinafter: the Controller), within the implementation of the BEHAVE project, collects and processes personal data of individuals—specifically their email addresses—for the purpose of informing them about the project’s activities, events, and results.

1. Legal basis for processing
Personal data are processed on the basis of the individual’s explicit consent, in accordance with point (a) of Article 6(1) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data (GDPR).

2. Purpose of processing
The collected email addresses are used exclusively for sending electronic messages (e-newsletters) containing information about the activities and results of the BEHAVE project, to which you have voluntarily subscribed.

3. Data disclosure
For sending electronic messages, the Controller uses the Mailchimp service, provided by the contractual processor Intuit Inc., USA. The processor operates in accordance with the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which ensures an adequate level of personal data protection in compliance with Article 45 of the GDPR.
Your data will not be disclosed to third parties unless required by law.

4. Processing and retention
Your personal data will be processed until you withdraw your consent. An individual may withdraw their consent at any time; such withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to the withdrawal. After withdrawal, the Controller will delete your data.

5. Rights of individuals
Individuals have the right to request:

access to their personal data,
rectification or erasure of data,
restriction of processing and withdrawal of consent,
data portability,
and to object to the processing.

If you believe that our processing of personal data violates the GDPR or national personal data protection legislation, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority for personal data protection, namely the Information Commissioner.
